This book has been designed for intermediate-level learners of Spanish. It can be used for self-study or in a classroom. It is written in everyday language, with realistic dialogs and situations. Here you will not find the typical textbook topics like how to get to the airport, where the restroom is, how to order at a restaurant, etc. Instead, you will find topics discussed among members of a typical Spanish family and among friends (e.g. the kids are trying to convince their parents to get them a dog, the mom meets an unemployed friend on the street and offers to help her find a job, the family argues about what to watch on TV, etc.).
The book includes 10 chapters. Each chapter consists of:
- A text, increasing in complexity as we progress in the book
- An extensive vocabulary section with the words as they appear in the text and in their original form (e.g. if a noun appears in the plural in the text, you are also given the singular in the vocabulary section; if a verb appears in a future tense, you are also given the infinitive)
- Reading-comprehension questions (True or False and multiple choice)
- Grammar and vocabulary exercises to practice what you’ve learned in each text
- Answers to the exercises.
